I was under the impression that casseroles were easy to make. They are my definition ( my own definition and not fact checked at all) a bunch of ingredients thrown into one pan and cooked for an easy no hassle meal.
This chicken casserole took forever to make! The prep work was where all my time and energy went. Pre cooking the chicken and veggies seemed redundant since I’d be putting them in the oven, but I did it and it was delicious. I was just shocked that it wasn’t as simple as it’s made out to be.
I think we should give casseroles more credit and appreciate the people who take the time to make them. They are so delicious – all the ingredients work so cohesively together to make a perfect bit every time.
